A SOUTH SEAS SHELL SPOON
South Seas Islands, circa 1900
An early twentieth century shell spoon, comprised of two shells and supported on a metal stand. The handle is delicately carved from a singular shell, with the outer portion of shell removed to reveal the delicate spiral form inside. The head of the spoon is formed from another pale creamy pink shell and has a gentle scoop shape.
